Welcome back and thank you!
By Chris Jestico, Head of Retail
We are counting down the days to reopening our shops, when our wonderful teams all across the UK, from our most northerly shop in Brechin, to our most southerly shops on the Isle of Wight, open their doors once more to our customers and communities. We cannot wait to welcome our colleagues and customers back! Our stores in England are preparing to reopen from Monday 12th April, and we hope to reopen our shops in Scotland in a few weeks’ time.
Throughout the past year, our retail volunteers and staff have shown tremendous resilience, determination and creativity. Not only adapting to help create a friendly and safe shopping experience for our customers during the pandemic; they helped their communities. I continue to be amazed to hear the stories of all our colleagues who volunteer their time to help, and have continued to do that throughout this past year – often giving their time to help other charitable organisations and volunteers.
On behalf of all my colleagues at Salvation Army Trading Company and The Salvation Army, I want to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers, staff, customers, and donors – we are extremely grateful. The support we receive is immeasurable.
Spring is here and there is a buzz amongst our retail colleagues as we prepare to reopen. Friendly smiles, a warm welcome and plenty of bargains await you in our stores. We hope to see you soon.
