Plus, interview with a charity shop volunteer

By Sarah Heaney

We couldn’t do what we do in our SATCoL shops, superstores and donation centres without the support of our dedicated volunteers; and that is true this year more than ever!

It has been a whirlwind of a few weeks since we reopened, with shops the busiest they have ever been. Thankfully we had so many volunteers keen to return and help, with many doing even more than usual to cope with the extraordinary volume of donations and sales.

Volunteers' Week offers us an opportunity to celebrate, recognise and thank all our volunteers for their time and hard work.

Between the 1st and 7th June, shops will dress their windows with posters, t-shirts and bunting, highlighting Volunteers' Week. Each shop will be given a budget to buy refreshments and cakes, and although we cannot celebrate with the usual tea party get together, we will be welcoming volunteers in over the week for a cuppa and a slice of cake, most importantly thanking them for their support.

This week is just one part of the many ways SATCoL celebrates and gives thanks for the support of our volunteers. If you want to know what it’s like to volunteer with us, read our interview with volunteer Stacy:
